Spa And Waxing Tips

Should I eat before my spa treatment?
It is advisable not to have a heavy meal immediately before any spa treatments. Just like you would not, before a jog, swim or any vigorous exercise. However, you can have a light snack if you are really hungry.

When should I arrive for my treatment?
If this is your first visit, please arrive at least 10 minutes early to allow yourself time to be relaxed and be familiar with the facility.

What if I have special health considerations?
If you have high blood pressure, allergies, other physical ailments or disabilities, or if you are pregnant, please be sure to notify our Spa consultant or receptionist before booking your treatments. If you have any concern at all, please let us know.

Can I ask the therapist to adjust things to increase my comfort?
Definitely. This is your time and you should enjoy the experience to the fullest. Speak to us whether you want changes to the room temperature, music volume or pressure of the massage. Massage therapists may use fingertips, knuckles, hands, elbows, and forearms during the massage. It is important to drink plenty of water as you can after the massage to flush metabolic waste from the tissues.

What if I’m late for my appointment?
Arriving late will simply limit the time for your treatment, lessening its effectiveness and your pleasure. Your treatment will end on time so that the next guest is not delayed.

What if I need to cancel a spa reservation?
The treatments you select are reserved especially for you. To cancel without charge requires four hours notice.

Spa Etiquette
The Spa environment is one of tranquillity and relaxation. Please respect the quiet and privacy of other spa guests by speaking softly or simply enjoying the silence.

Massage therapy addresses a variety of health conditions, the most prevalent being stress-related tension, which, experts believe, accounts for 80%-90% of disease.

Here’s why:
Bodywork offers a drug-free, non-invasive and humanistic approach based on the body’s natural ability to heal itself. Massage has many physiological effects, such as: Increasing circulation, allowing the body to pump more oxygen and nutrients into tissues and vital organs.

Stimulating the lymph system, the body’s natural defense, against toxic invaders. Releasing endorphins, the body’s natural painkiller.

Improving range of motion and decreasing discomfort for people with low back pain. Relieving pain for migraine sufferers and decreasing the need for medication.

The Boyzilian and Brazilian waxing is the cutting edge Bikini wax for both man and women, done professionally by specially trained therapists who practice high standards of hygiene.

Boyzilian / Brazilian wax removes hair from the entire pubic region, or upon request leaves a small patch.

Many people have waxing done because of hygiene purposes and the freedom to wear even the most revealing swimwear and lingerie.

Contrary to popular belief, waxing does not cause itching or stubbles, unlike shaving. It also gives a comparatively much cleaner and smoother close wax.

Most importantly, it also enhances one’s sex life.

What to expect during your Brazilian wax appointment with us.

When you arrive at our location, you'll be taken to our private waxing area where you'll be asked to remove your clothes from the waist down. You'll lie on your back on a table with your legs down or your knees up. Your aesthetician will know you at least as intimately as your partner. Your best defense is to appear as though you think it's as normal as your aesthetician does.

What should I do to prepare for my visit?

To begin, the aesthetician will dip a waxing stick into a pot of warm wax and then spread it onto your skin & hair. We use hard wax for the least amount of discomfort. As the wax cools, it basically “shrink-wraps" each hair. Once the wax has hardened, it is then pulled out from the root. Most likely, your aesthetician will remove stray hairs with a set of tweezers.

While waxing, it's best to pull the skin tight, so you may be asked to help stabilize an area with your hand, especially towards the middle of the labia where there's no firm bone or muscle underneath. Waxing usually starts in the front & moves toward the back.

How long should my hair be?

Do come dressed as comfortably as you possibly can. For ladies, do try to avoid making a Brazilian appointment three days before or after your period, the reason being skin is more sensitive then.

So how does it differ from a regular bikini wax?

Hair growth should be at least 1/4" but not longer than 1/2" (about 2 week’s growth) for the most effective waxing. Hair should be carefully trimmed if necessary. It should be free from oils and lotion to make hair removal easier.

Basically, with the Brazilian, hair is removed in the front, back & everything in between. Most of the time clients opt for everything to be removed. A Bikini Wax on the other hand, the hair is removed in the Bikini line only.

Is it true that hair grows back thinner after waxing?

Yes, because pulling the hair from the root weakens the hair follicle with time.

Any tips for being more comfortable during a bikini wax?

Seeing the same aesthetician repeatedly helps, of course, because you establish a comfort level with that person. Here at our location, we will ask always ask you for your preference of aesthetician and if it is your first ever Brazilian, we make it a point to assign you to the most experienced waxing aesthetician
